Hit at least 1 car…

Yeah…

Fucked up part is, I was supposed to be on a Southwest Airlines flight into Midway tonight… but I canceled my plans about a week ago… my friend was still supposed to go, but I just called him and he is skiing in Windham, NY… :ohnoes: FEW

That has got to be one hell of a ride.

coughPHEWcough

Hmm… granted I know 3 incidents in the last 2 months is a VERY small percentage… but what is with these problems with front landing gears recently???

yeah it snowed like a motherfucker here today but it sure was fun doing donuts in empty parking lots this evening.

Speaking of snow I’m going to have a fun drive home from work tonight in the TerCelica. Finally can use the foglights, hahaha.

It’s funny how people freak out about the smallest airline mishaps.

Know how many cars slid off the road this morning? Probably like 1000. I bet more people were hurt today due to icy conditions in cars than were even on that plane. Whoop-dee-doo, some little rugrat was killed. Noone cares.

OMG i am so glad i didn’t fly today holy shit i could have died. BLAH BLAH BLAH.

supposedly the plane actually slid so far it left airport property and hit a car on a near by road…killing a 6-year old boy.

does this make the story “different” enough for you to make it a “story”?

i read it. it’s an interesting story, but probably would have garnered the same amount of attention regardless.

yeah,… i know what you mean. I usually think the same thing. whoop-de-do… a plane went to far and knocked over a landing light.

1 child died… I’d call that a victory.

AHAHAHAA, whats up, ME!

oh noes now there are two newmans…

waits for zwarbyt to chime in…

:run:

it wasnt the landing gear that failed

the car slif off the end of the runway, and im sure hit a barriar wall and some fences and shit b4 leaving airport property . im sure something it hit past the end of the runway collapsed the gear

Origianl story (before being updated) said something had happened to the landing gear. More than likely it broke after hitting the barrier, but the front landing gear is no longer where it should be.

Did You guys NOT READ an update?

the airport was designed for smaller prop planes… the runways are shorter. Large commercial jets generally land at OHare because of this.

wtf

word…Is hard to land this babies on short runways specially on bad weather

The accident occurred the same day as a deadly crash at Midway 33 years ago, when a plane coming in for a landing struck several homes before plowing into one. Forty-five people – 43 passengers and two in the house – were killed.

I think the airport is cursed, plain and simple.

And under normal conditions, a 737 landing at a smaller strip such as Midway wouldn’t be an issue. The real question is who’s gonna get blamed for this: Midway, Southwest, or will they come up with something better? Maybe the FAA? How bout the National Weather Service?

.

damn that sucks, i just read about it on AOL news thing…too bad about the kid.
