Sounds more like rich people mentality to me. I don’t know any “ghetto” people that come up thinking that. Buck the system or take advantage of the system because they think they’re screwed over, yes. But “above the rules of society” ? Hardly. To be above society and it’s rules, you typically need money, something that most people in the ghetto don’t have in large quantities.
Shit that kind of mentality happens all over, not just in the “ghetto”. Why tag it as such?

little bastard white kid who I almost run over at least once a week, in his baggy clothes, hat on sideways, with the attitude that he can walk down the middle of the road and cars should just slow down and go around him; yep, he’s got ghetto mentality. .

Umm, I think you’'re confusing the ghetto with suburbia. Because I drive down streets in the city (Buffalo for instance), and there are kids playing in the street. When a car comes, they typically stop what they’re doing and let the car pass. I also drive through suburbia (where I now reside), and the kids play in the street, and I’ll be damned if I don’t have to lay on my horn and/or kick the fucking hockey net out of the MIDDLE of the 2 - way street just to get to my street.
It’s not a “ghetto” attiude. It’s just kids playing in the street not paying attention attitude. You’re gonna tell me you never played in the street as a kid and was so into whatever game you were playing that you had some delayed reaction in getting out of the way?
Most parents tell their kids to watch out in the street. If they don’t listen, one of these days they’ll get hit if they stay in the street with oncoming traffic, and then they’ll learn to get out of the way. That’s what happened on my block in the ghetto :gotme:
