Any quick way to strip xml code and make it comma delimit?

Pulling email addys and domains out of an xml txt file and seperating by commas is the most horribly boring tedious task evar!!!:rant:

Not sure I understand completely, but Excel lets you work with comma delimiting.

dude… wtf/

excel 101~!!! hahaha

nope… do it by hand… there is no other way to do it!

PS, perl could do this with like 20 lines of code

i have a perl code to do extractions… just use the scriptomatic!

i don’t understand why excel couldn’t do this? i’ve pulled XML into it before and chopped it up.

user error :booty:

ITS NOT COMMA DELIMITED YET>>IT NEEDS TO BE, don;t make me pl0wned j00 0 nub!! This is what I get regardless of file type or editor. Even in Office 2003 xml editor I cant save as text delimitted.
<z:row entry=‘#@pabar.com’ type=‘0’/>
<z:row entry=‘@.abanet.org’ type=‘0’/>
<z:row entry=‘@.iltanet.org’ type=‘1’/>
<z:row entry=‘@.k12.pa.us’ type=‘0’/>
<z:row entry=‘@.k12.pa.us’ type=‘1’/>

I dont know Pearl that well. Chopping it up in notepad now.

You can do it with PHP… it’s not hard, just tedious to make it work properly!

better than 992 lines of code cutting?

what is this fagtority for??? some bullshit web shit for SCF :greddy: if so, fuck it.

if it’s something legit, maybe you can just properly export the xml into a delimited format :kekegay:

if it’s super top-secret then i understand.

if it’s GFI then you’re just doing it wrong.

:slight_smile:

you guys all suck, hire some young girl intern who wears short skirts and low cut tops to do your tedious work while you fuck off and read Pittspeed all day. :doh:

ROFL. Alright expert, you can’t export anything other than .xml through GFI now can you? :greddy2:

Hell yes!!! All you need is one looping command written properly!! As long as every line has the same values to remove/split, it would work OK.

I don’t know if I will have time tonight (I’m working 16 hours a day every M-F) but if you email me the file I can look at it.

Or, by tonight you could probably be done with it by hand… :kekegay:

don’t export it… look for the native listing in the gfi directory… that’s how i chopped it up real quick when the whitelisting corrupted back when. gfi support had some tool to use as well! gotta stop the services to copy the file though… pretty sure there’s an open file lock if it’s running

:whitey:

Access FTW~! Didnt have to stop services. GFI<FB :boink

mdb to csv saves brain cells.

booooring… should have just did some chomping instead

csv is supposed to be comma delimitted but I open it in notepad and no commas, ugghh. Time to go home!

I could hack the mainframe but if the database is encoded the whole system might go down. :dunno:

you should of asked word processing :kekegay:
