I have an old server that has a CD-ROM that can’t read burned CDs. I have no other option but to find an original windows 2000 CD.
Anyone have one laying around I can have/borrow?
Thanks,
me

lol
only got 2000 advanced server
dude u can get a cheap cd drive on newegg or w.e that site is called. basic cd drives for liek 10$
The point isn’t spending money, its that I’m trying to install 2000 onto an old dell server that only has a SCSI interface. I am well aware that I could just buy a new CD-ROM, but this one works fine with regular CDs. I don’t feel like spending any money on a crappy old dual PII 300 machine.
Thanks for the replies though. I’m still looking
why not “borrow” a cd drive from another machine you have for bit, install what you need to, then switch back?
Because I don’t have any newer SCSI drives sitting around.
I tried an ATA controller card with another CD-ROM, but that didnt work out.
I tried an adapter for another drive, again with the same results.
The drive works as it can install windows XP, but I want windows 2000.
Dont ask… it’s not my decision.
I just need the original CD, unfortunately, that is my only option.
Just so happens I have a SCSI CD-Burner laying around if you need to borrow it.
Otherwise I have no legit Win2k CD
That may work I’ll PM you when/if I figure things out. Thanks
i have a win2k cd - not the full version, but the add-on… it’s legit tho
Not sure if this helps tho jeff man, let me know if you wanna use it
