Looking into starting a business, but need to find out the legality of something. If everything goes as I hope, I’ll have no problem going through this person for the paperwork and such, but since the legality really is 50/50, I don’t want to invest a large some of money for nothing. I’ve found a couple of “free consultation” firms in the YellowPages, but if someone knows someone, I’ll shoot the business their way.
having 2 separate businesses entities
an ll c and an s-corp
ill tell you to first go to the small business development center at st Vincents collage first
its free state sponsored
and they will do everything form
demographics
to you business plan
tell you if its feesable
and finally prepare your loan application for the bank
then go pay a lawyer $150/hr consultation + start up frees
hope this helps
I’m not sure what specifically it would fall under. Essentially, the business in question might not even be legal to undertake, and I need someone with a better understanding of the laws to tell me whether or not it’ll work.
Pitt, St. Vinny’s and Duquesne have small business centers. Call/email/visit, there are a lot of great resources that will probably be free to you. Learn about your side of things before going to a lawyer. You don’t want to pay $150 to have him answer simple questions for you.
PM Hycomp on here… he is a friend of mine and an attorney… Im not sure if he specializes in the area that you are interested in, but he might be able to point you in the right direction.
You’re right, but I was trying to not be a “bother” and keep them from their current projects, but I guess I’m going to have to call if I want an answer.
