It has an Ireland engineering catback, e21 recaros, ix rear seat with armrest and ski pass through, 3.73 LSD, new-ish rack, Idk a bunch of shit. It’s mechanicly sound just needs some body love but I think dawn is working on that

you do realize that you should prob get an e36 then cause thats not what an e30 is about.

e36’s are ugly. and e30’s do come with all that stuff! I may have found one in toronto that meets all my qualifications (besides heated seats probably but I can add those cheap)

I’m not necessarily looking for luxury. I think e36’s, older audi’s, and older subies are awkward and ugly. There are plenty of e30’s that have ac, cruise, leather, power windows, etc. Im not looking for a base model car, which is where the civic comment came from Dawn. Your car is awesome but not for me.

getting the VIN tonight to call bmw usa to get the fmvss letter and going Tuesday to check it out.

Welp. BMW wont give me the compliance letter so I have to go through an importer. and its not on the road so I have to get it hauled (its exactly 80 miles to the border). Hopefully both of those things dont cost me more than $700.

But the car is on ‘ok’ condition. It failed the jack test but it comes with an extra transfer case. All 4 doors are from a red car and the whole car has a shitty paint job on it; poorly taped off. But other than that its decent. no real rot, only a few small rust spots. The rockers look bad but they are solid still. the frame rails where it curves up onto the engine bay have been bottomed out so those arent in the best shape. comes with a set of steelies with good tires on it. The interior is in really good shape, the power sun roof even works still. All of the windows work but are kind of slow. the central locking button doesnt work and the drivers outside lock is seized or something. The doors are starting to rust along the bottom edge but I can get 4 black complete rust free doors for $20 each (with black door cards!) which I will as soon as I am definitely getting the car. The inner left front axle has a ripped boot so i am going to get a used set of axles and re-boot them so I have spares. $280 shipped for those. The engine bay has 10 or so cut wires so I have to figure out what they go to but afaik everything works.

So, in the long run it will probably cost me more than dawns car or something comparable, but it is exactly what I want so thats ok.

Now I just need to sell that damn accord.

in addition to the compliance letter you need a letter that it’s free of recalls, and you need to swap the gauge cluster to a mph one. and you may or may not get raped for an arbitrary value for sales tax over the border, in addition to paying at the DMV.

I would not buy an e30 ix. every ix I’ve ever seen had a bad xfer case. plus it takes away all the fun.

why doesn’t that car have ix flares/skirts?

This sounds like a giant waste of $ and time, but have fun with it I guess lol

I assume they were removed when the fenders/doors were replaced. They probably couldnt find IX fenders so decided to scrap the whole lot. Which is fine with me, its not like the wheels will fit flush with either configuration.
