It is basicly a piggy back and uses a gameboy advance as the interface. I’ve been trying to untangle a major wiring debockle with this unit in an srt4. Just wondering if anyone has worked with one of these before.
gearhead what seems to be the problem?
well, so far i haven’t gotten the gameboy to boot any program… so i assume you need to download it onto it? Right now it barely runs… no cel, but any positive pressure and it shuts off. I’m almost ready to rip it all out.
with the dtec you download updates onto the dtec box via a laptop not the gameboy. the gameboy has no flash ram to save things like that. even though you dont have a cel cycle the pcm to check codes on, off, on, off, on, off, on and it will run the diagnostics in the milage read out. i believe that you only need the connection cable to boot dtec thru gameboy. something is definatly wrong with the settings inside the dtec. i would have to piss with it to figure it out
well I dont think that I have the right cables, so hopefully I ordered the right ones online. Once they get here, i’ll try to load the .exe file i got from TXS’s site.
So, do you have to use the wideband jack on the dtec to plug the laptop in? or does the gameboy get plugged into the laptop? The instructions made it sound like the gameboy needed uploaded with the software and it was good to go. I understand though that it doesn’t have flash memory…
i can refer you to someone that has this installed on their SRT-4 if you like, PM me
