haha
lol… you stop in I will give you one week free… It is VERY relaxing… I love it ona bad or long day just go lay in the heat for a few mins it is perfect! you can acctually play a cd or listen to the radio if you want so you dont get earphone marks lol…
rofl:rofl
I’ve never been tanning. They have them at the gym but I haven’t tried it out yet…
you should give it a shot… it isn’t bad… and depending how long you can go in for very relaxing…
My summer color isn’t completely gone yet, once it is i’ll try it out. How long should a first-timer go in for? I tan quite well and do not get sunburn (for whatever thats worth)…
:ahh
you should go before you completely loose your color that way you can maintain your current color… don’t go to get darker as it is winter… this time of year it is all about maintaining a base…
depends what kind of beds they have… find out what they are… how many minute max and with or without facial bulbs that kind of stuff and let me know I’d say its most likely a 20 min max bed with no facial bulbs in which case you would prob start at 10 or 12 mins and work your way up… you will need goggles and tanning lotion for the best and safest results though.
I’ll take a look and see what they are tomorrow…
I can see you wearing tanning goggles… :lol
I’ll come out looking like a porn star.
Whats the consequence to not using goggles? You just close your eyes then?
They say it will damage your eyes… but you really get cool powers like Cyclops, try it.
Im going to the tanning salon right now. brb
I’ve been tanning for many years now, no goggles and my eyes are fine… I do recommend tanning lotion though.
any specific type of tanning lotion recommended?
Kdubs probably knows better than I do since she works in a salon, but I always us a tanning lotion with bronzers in it ( I currently have Dark Sexy Tan which was $18 online). I have tried the tingeling ones, but they seem to burn my skin :eek. I would def. recommend buying a tanning lotion online though- you will pay $50-60 in a salon for lotoin, but only $15-30 online depending on what you get.
what are the lotions supposed to do?
edit, a google search answered my question.
rofl at least you can get the strapless ones…
see tips sheet below…
haha… waiting?
you will have long time negative affects to your eyes that may not be noticeable at first…
there are a few different ones i would suggest based on what results you want, how tan you you already are, and how dark you want to get or if you are looking to maintain also depends on how much money you are willing to spend…
bronzers are not good for everybody it really depends on your starting base… if you are fare skinned intensifier is the way to start if you have a nice base already bronzer is a good way to go I tend to tell people to avoid tingles though… especially when first starting to tan… They tend to be cheaper on line depending on the brand and if they have been replaced by a new better lotion…
Indoor tanning tip #1: Tanning happens in phases
Tanning is the natural response of the skin to Ultraviolet light exposure. There are two types of tanning which occur. (1) Immediate Pigment Darkening which occurs during ultraviolet exposure and increases until exposure ends. It occurs in response to both UVA and certain visible wavelengths. This response depends on various factors including previous exposure and skin pigmentation type. (2)The second type is called Delayed Tanning. Delayed tanning occurs 48 -72 hours after exposure and increases for 7 - 10 days. Duration depends on various factors including repeat exposure and may last for several weeks or months. This result is due in part to an increase in the size of melanin containing cells (melanocytes) in the skin and the increase in melanosomes within these cells. Many studies show that this may serve to protect the skin from UVA and UVB damage due to overexposure.
Indoor tanning tip #2. Why you should always use a good quality indoor tanning lotion: It will help your skin to absorb the UV, which will aid in the tanning process. There are also special ingredients that stimulate melanin production, such as Tyrosine, which will give you the most out of every tanning session. Your skin tends to dry out during the tanning process and if you don’t use a good quality indoor tanning lotion, your skin will exfoliate faster, become more dry and flaky, and you will lose your tan faster. So the bottom line:for a deeper, darker, longer lasting tan, you need to use quality indoor tanning lotion. It’s best to apply indoor tanning lotion immediately prior to your session or 1-2 hours prior is even better if you can. Applying it ahead of time allows your skin to absorb the lotion better so you will get the best results from your tanning session.
Indoor tanning tip #3: Why tanning salons cannot allow you to tan as long as you want
With the risks involved in individuals who overexpose themselves to UV light, it is the responsibility of the tanning salon owner and operator to eliminate the opportunity for consumers to sunburn while visiting an indoor tanning salon. It is also the responsibility of the tanning professional to make sure individuals who cannot biologically acquire a tan (skin type 1) do not tan indoors. The promotion of moderate, sensible and responsible exposure to ultraviolet light is the goal of a professional tanning salon.
Indoor tanning tip #4: Why tanning salons always verify customers are using appropriate eyewear and why it is important
Indoor tanning salon owners and operators are obligated to verify every client using tanning equipment is using federally compliant eyewear. It is there goal to educate customers about the fact that towels, scarves or eyelids do not adequately protect eyes from ultraviolet exposure. In addition to possible state laws, Federal regulations (CFR 21 1040.20 ©(4) require that tanners wear protective eyewear that block 99.9% of the UVB light and 99% of UVA. It is the operator’s responsibility that ALL tanning clients use federally compliant eyewear. Acceptable eyewear must state the product’s compliance with federal regulations on the package. When proper eyewear is not used during the tanning process, the potential for eye injury is greatly increased. Some eye injuries and disorders include Photokeratitis (Cornea Sunburn), Cataracts, Pterygium (Abnormal tissue growth) and Damage to the Cornea.
