Anyone work at a Chevy Truck or Dodge Truck dealer?

I’m looking for a truck. Here’s what I’m thinking:

2008/2009 (new, not used)
gasoline powered
3/4 ton 2500 series
2wd (yes, I said two wheel drive)
posi/LSD
4.10 or similar rear end ratio
8" bed
4 doors
SLT or LT2 trim level
manual preferred

Suggestions?

diesel is overrated. don’t need one for pulling an open trailer. i will prob get another gas truck. after driving a couple diesels i don’t really care for them

I would see who has the best incentives and go from there. right now is the end of the quarter, you can really crush a dealership on price

DONT BUY CHEVY. i towed three silverado gas’s last weekend march 15-17 because of fuel pumps on two of them and a starter on one. one had 3k miles the other had around 16K.

id personaly buy a ram life time powertrain and they are decent price on gas HD’s

i think the 3500 and commercial are excluded from lifetime if i recall

yes there is a lifetime warrenty on the HD’s just not on the SRT’s the cummins and “certain fleet vehicles” as long as its a hemi your good

honestly i did not like the hemi when i drove them though. i know GM has a good trans behind their motors. don’t know what motors you are considering?
6.2 or the 8.1? the allison is badass in the GM or gonna be stick shift?

Shooting for stick. I would prefer Allison + 8.1 if available if I have to go with an auto. I don’t know about the RFE545 in a 3/4 ton and 9000 lbs behind it. They say it will be fine…but think about this: the RFE 545 is the same transmission in the Charger R/T I already have!!!

the 8.1 is ZF 6 spd. that was what i wanted to get.
it is granny first gear with 5 more gears available

i don’t think gm offers the 8.1 anymore.
