Hey guys, i’m putting out an APB on a newer blue Camaro with i do believe 1 or more white racing stripes and neat looking headlights.
General location is the Alli-kiski area, specific location is the Tarentum bridge at about 12 Midnight on Thusday May 20th.
If anyone IS or knows the guy please let me know, we had an ‘almost’ race on the bridge by incident tonight just a little 1,2 and shutdown at the speedlimit and i pulled off afterwards hopeing he’d follow but he didn’t. If anyone body knows the dude let me know.
Naw naw, not brand new, just new-ish… I never got a good look at the car to tell much about it, i only saw it at night in my rear-view.
It went down like this;
I caught the green light at the highlands side of the bridge and was getting on the bridge slow because there is a little dip where the bottom of the hill meets the bridge(my car is really low) then as i’m going around the little bend that lines the road up with the bridge i see the camaro pull onto the on-ramp from a sidestreet maybe 100 feet back. Then as the bridge straitens i’m accellerating normally (hopeing that the camaro tried to pass me so i can have some excitement that night), i get to about 3k in 3rd gear, not exactly sure how fast that is(maybe 40mph) and then i see him turn the last corner behind me and just start flying up his lane like a bat out of hell. At which point i am saying both (kick ass, and shit!) so i nail the gas(Didn’t think i needed to downshift but should have) and boost spike at 20 before leveling off at 18 then droping to 16 and pulling back up to 17(DSM boost control powa!) and i reach for my new intercooler sprayer because my car is hot just getting of route 28 only to realize that all my water has long since leaked out. So i start accelerating mildly untill about 5k and he is closing real fast then my car starts really pulling(and i say a thank you prayer to Gods who bestowed clipped turbo’s to us) and he slowly stops gaining but since i was driving the car easy all day and now it was cool and at night my car was not warmed up as far as boosting is concerned and i nicely hit fuel cut, not once, not twice, but 3 times and through all i just keep the peddle held to the ground and keep going and then he ends up almost right next to me. I’m at 6k at this point and both we cover some ground neck and neck then I start slowly pulling away until i hit 7k in 3rd gear wich = 101 MPH and i shut down being we’re on a bridge that ends in a red light and he shuts down at the same time. I just wanted to talk to the guy and see what all he was doing and running and give him a thumbs up.
Although i do suppose that a 3rd gear pull to redline on the ‘highway’ at night would be were my car would be at its peak in terms of FWD, clipped turbo with supporting mods, and bald tires. But I would have thought that the camaro would have taken me even under the circumstances, not even just taken my, but eaten me alive. Not that i want to downplay my car, but i’ve always given in to camaros being faster wich is another reason i wanted to see what he was running so i could see how i match up.
Alright check it out, me and my buddy josh are sittin at Brusters in Lower Burrell watchin cars tonight and the Camaro and Damico’s amber Eclipse GST roll by and I’m like “Hey thats the dude, thats the guy…”… So they drive past, then 10 minutes later they come back around and pull in to brusters and drive right up to us and are like “Hey whats up man, is that your car? I gotta know what you got runnin in there if you held me off on the bridge last night, that thing is quick”… So we all start talking to the guys and they were really cool, we kept goin back and forth about car stuff and he was being really cool and we just had a good time hangin out and talking. Me and Damico swapped numbers so i can give him a hand workin on his car and it was decent and they might head out to BWW one of these nights. The best part is, the Camaro was an SS and he was all out trying to pass me last night

The street is the only place where it matters unless your driving a track only car and you’re going to have very different circumstances when out on the street, not every run is side by side at a light from a stop to 4th gear. You gotta roll with what comes at you, unless you only drive at the track in wich case your kinda defeating the purpose of a car and turning it into a peice of gear rather than transportation. Sometimes you can race from a stop, others you go from a roll, the only people that think roll racing is gay are the people who loose at it and are looking for someone to blame :rolleyes: .
