Went to the fair yesterday and seen these showers. We were pretty amazed. I never thought a shower / tub could be so cool. We could give a shit about the steam feature but everything else is pretty pimp. I question the quality of everything though. Anyone ever hear of these or see them? I was told there is a 10 year warranty. It not on the entire thing though. Here’s their website: www.aquajetshowers.com
The model we are thinking of is this one, its $5500, plus tax, http://www.aquajetshowers.com/9011.html
Just to compare prices out of curiosity we went across the walkway to the bath fitter stand and they gave me a quick quote of $3000 for just a plain looking set up. I couldnt believe they are that much for what they are.
i was in a house that was getting one, they really impressed me. They had access panels to all the important stuff so even if something were to go wrong it seemed it would be easy to fix. but for 5000$ i would rather have a pool
lol yeah we were there for about 20 minutes too, kinda hard to understand the one guy though he has a heavy english/british accent
well they are modular, so they can go anywhere. If we get one I’d just take out the tub, put it in the same corner where the plumbing is now, and then refinish the floor.
Kohler makes one with a remote too that you control a whole bunch of nozzles independently. Its basically that thing only part of your house and will last as long as the tile lasts…if done right longer than your house. http://www.us.kohler.com/performanceshowers/dtv.jsp
Combine that system with a jacuzzi tube, some waterproof wet location speakers, your good to go.
Little more integrated into the average home this way and with the savings you can spend some on the other parts of the bathroom
they did say they were made in “asia” or probably china is more likely, which is deff. scary.
that kohler system is nice. I was looking around at lowes yesterday and was thinking kinda the same thing…basically you could make something similar to the aquajet showers, with better name parts, for less… alot less as long as you could install it all yourself.
I have a “generic” one and it kicks ass. It was made in China or wherever, but everything works fine. If you’re not an electrician/plumber/mechanic you can’t assemble/install it yourself. I did mine and it was a huge PITA. I got mine on Ebay delivered to my door for $2000 and it was one of the biggest ones they make. Shop around before you buy.
Bathfitter makes me sick. Too much money to just cover up a problem. You could get a new fiberglass tub and wall kit, and related plumbing for about the same price. They are the easiest to install, never need caulking, and will never leak.
BigEd88, I like where you’re going with this. The possibilities are endless.
Im still trying to figure out if i should get ride of the whirlpool tub or not… WE never use it… but i dont know if it will kill me for resale, but i want the space it occupies for a bigger shower…
I think i would rather get a swim spa if they are in the ball park of price. On a side note I have been working for the fair and since the start I have purchased the little giant ladder for 300 and a really nice tv stand for 400.
