Article: A safe I can't open? Throw it away! LOL

Wow, they were able to keep it usable again… thats awesome!

Viper966 - i will pay 50 bucks for the safe in rents basement right now

Yep, the hole is just larger than 1/4" just enough for the micro tools and camera to go into. It is then filled with a putty that hardens like steel, mixed with the fragments of the drill bits that shatter during the drilling process. The bit fragments make it so that if someone thinks they are clever and try to drill in the same spot they won’t get very far.

Once it is drilled once it is done. You must drill in a very precise spot which still triggers the shock alarm but hits just above a pin you must hold in order to manual open. It is a huge pain in the ass as there are a ton of wires and if you hit any of them the safe is toast and will have to be cut open.

no shit

I think with some heavy tools, a basic understanding of safe mechanics and time you can break in to pretty much any safe. A safe is “safe” because your typical robber isn’t going to have the advantages you have as the owner:

  1. Unlimited time
  2. No noise constraints
  3. Any tools you want to use
  4. The ability to research the specific make/model of safe

If I had a safe like Viper’s parents I’d be willing to bet good money with anyone that eventually I’d get into it. Pretty sure I’d eventually get into that 2000lb one as well as long as I didn’t have to worry about it ever working again. There’s a big difference between the guys who got $4000 for 4 hours work to crack into a bank safe without permanently damaging it compared to “just get it open, we don’t care what happens to it”.

true story… i can get that shit open… no joke…

viper… let me know i can pick it up

Does anyone sense “I want to rob your parents” by him saying “let me know i can pick it up” ???

Thief.

ok, i dont get it

shoe shop owner puts $ in safe
dude sells shoe shop, leaves safe
new guy want safe gone, give it to tow truck driver
tow truck driver dumps safe in a parking lot
fire fightrs find safe
police break into safe …

and after all this … the kids of the original owner want the cash ? fuck you shitheads, that safe was sold, given away, dumped, found and then handed off … you pricks should have claimed the safe when your dad still owned the shop

oh wait, it wasnt worth it for you then because it was to much work to bother trying to get into it. lazy fucks

You have the ambition and drive to get in it. Viper’s parents, probably just don’t give a shit enough to crack it open, nor do they really want to spend all the effort you would. Its probably still down there because its just too fucking heavy to move.

I know I would be pretty pissed, well if the satisfaction of getting the fucker open didn’t make me happy, If I spent days of effort getting it open to see it was cleaned out before it was left behind by the previous owners.

Just think, now you have to get a big pile of shit out of the basement cause its a huge eye sore instead of just a nice looking safe. You aren’t going to just cut it into piece either.

and how pissed would you be if you didnt open it and the next owners of the house did, just to find a priceless collection of something, or stacks and stacks of bonds / stocks ect from 50 years ago ?
