Audi Club event at Mid-Ohio last month...

… it was my second time there. It was a fun weekend aside from the fact my car left the track on a flatbed. All is well though.

Here’s my fav pic from the weekend. More to follow.

What happened to your car?

nice and i love the s4

nice

Thanks gang.

As for the car, I’m not really sure what the problem was. It spend a few days in the shop but they didn’t find anything wrong. The same guy (Chris, good dude) who looked it over was the same guy who told me not to drive it home.

Anyhoo, after the final session of the final day the car was making a clicking noise from the front of the engine near the serp. belt/water pump/etc. The noise was very similar to when the water pump was going bad last year. However, the car was not running hot (coolant) nor was it leaking anywhere. So maybe the pump was fine but it was not worth the risk to drive her home and have the pump fail, then the timing belt, then… kablamo! Chris took everything apart (stethoscope on the water pump) on the Tuesday and found nothing wrong nor was the car making any sounds.

We both felt the clicking didn’t appear to be valvetrain related since it was coming from the front of the motor. However, it was very hot day and the oil temp was a tad higher than I’ve ever seen at the track. So maybe the oil ran too thin thus causing the problem. I hope that’s not the case…

love the car

Looks fun!

What were your oil temps?
