hahaa… im already on it… i started googling it, AFTER i posted it…

ill fwd the links to her.

IDK if this could be an issue, but it was for me…

It turned out the Customization file was the wrong one it looks like it had been pointing at an adobe cui file possibly created by acrobat to provide the icons for ‘create pdf’, im not sure.

  1. On the effected users account if you can (mine kept crashing so it wasnt easy to do, seemed to stop crashing after i did all updates from adobe not sure if that helped but it seemed to) open acad 2009.
  2. Type cuiload on the command line in ACAD
  3. The ‘Load/ Unload Customization groups’ window should open
  4. Unload all the groups listed (if you have custom apps or ad-ons for acad you may wish to be more selective with removing the groups)
  5. Click browse
  6. Browse to ‘C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\AutoCAD 2009\R17.2\enu\Support’ (you may need to type it in as appdata would be a hidden folder by default) and open acad.cui
  7. Click ‘Load’ and close and you should get your toolbars back.

This worked specifically for my problem so may work for yours or may just get you that little further. The key to this was the error was saying it couldnt load the cui and the cui it was trying to load was in c:\users\USERNAME\appdata\roaming\adobe\acrobat\9.0\acad-7001-409\pdfic.cui
If the file got corrupt you could try copying the acad.cui file from another users account on the same machine.

Hey if it works I’m only like 10 days late lol.

can’t you just right click in the gray borders? that should give you a menu of, well, menus.

Not if the cui isn’t loaded

Thanks for all the help… problem solved!
