man, some of you are totally not getting this. this is a GC for restaurant.com, not any restaurant.
Just saved a bunch!!
Thanks
In the end, are you actually receiving a gift card or will there be a print out that gets handed to a waiter/waitress?
im receiving a Gift CARD, that I can then use to purchase gift CERTIFICATES from the website for specific places.
i like buying them for my parents, it gets them out of the house more and then they invite me to dinner and pay for it
WHAT, DO YOU HAVE SOMETHING WRONG WITH TIPPING 20%?
cheap ass
dine in ONLY! hamburg location ONLY!!
3 - $100 GC’s purchased, these deals are awesome! And I usually tip 20-25% anyways so good deal!
Sometimes these are decent, but right now not really.
Many of the restaurants that used to be on there have dropped out of it.
They basically don’t want cheap people showing up at their restaurants with $100 gift certificates that they bought for 8 dollars wanting to eat and drink for free. They want to make it worth their while, and give you a “discount” but you still spend money there.
In most cases its too hard for me and the old lady to spend 35 dollars on 2 sandwiches at caputis on sheridan.
this is the same 80% off deal that restaurants.com pretty much always has. There are almost always strict terms that suck.
ugh, the blatant lack of reading comprehension kills me.
yeah, I think a lot of people in this thread are in for a surprise when they try to use.
So wait, once you get the cards you can probably double dip with promo codes when you go to buy certificates. Buy $100 restaurant.com gift card for $8, then you can usually get 75% off or so promo codes that could make your $100 worth 400. Wonder if they exclude promo codes when using a gift card.
i’ll let you know, but i kinda doubt it.
There is no waiting to get cards. You print out gift certificates using your home printer, then bring them in to the restaurant and hang your head in shame.
You have to present the gift certificate before you order, I don’t know why this is a requirement. I suppose the restaurant has to call in and verify the certificate.
You can only use one certificate per table. The certificate is for dining only, not alcohol, and not gift cards.
There are many many restrictions. Its only worth the money if you want to go to a real high end restaurant (50 per plate or so), and you get a $100 restaurant.com coupon.
So if you have a $100 coupon, then you need to spend $150 in most cases. So basically you need to dine with 3 people or more. Its hard to order $50 worth of appetizers if you have already ordered two $50 meals.
I have a couple of these gift certificates that I let expire, they are just too hard to use.
The entertainment book is a far better deal. Its usually 50 percent off any entree, or buy one get one.
jesus bro, read.
the deal is for a physical fucking gift card that gets mailed to you, which you THEN use to buy certificates that you print.
Money -> receive restaurant.com gift card -> buy restaurant gift certificates -> print and use
They might let people double dip. Let’s say you get 80% off of $10. They make $2. If you take 80% off of that you are paying them $0.40. It’s pretty clear that they are not making their money from your $2 to being with.
LOL, my plan was:
Spend $8 to get the $100 for the site.
Use an 80% off to spend $500 for my $100
Take 10 years to spend the 500 since there’s so many damn restrictions.
the certificates generally expire 1 year from printing.
im really glad i dont have to deal with customers who use these things. theyre so fucking annoying
the way it USED to work, is when you got the gift certificate, you would have to call a 1800 number to verify it. HUGE pain in the ass during a dinner rush to call a fucking 1800 number and enter a validation code. now we just take them and the owner phones them all in in the morning
some woman came in to pick up an order a week ago and tried to use one of these $10 off when you spend $20 or more before tax gift certs. it says “dine in only” on the fucking cert. so she looks at the poor 18 year old cashier girl and goes “well just put it on a fucking tray.”
im in the back making pizza per usual and im watching this whole exchange. so the girl unwraps all of the wrapped food she had phone ordered, puts it all in dine in containers, cashes the woman out, usng the gift cert bc now its a dine in and sets the tray down in front of her.
what happeed next was completely unbelievable to me. i dont see how people could be so fucking rude to some poor teenager whos just trying to make her $7.15/hr
she looks down at the food, looks at the girl, (mind you, this is still at the counter) and goes “i didnt finish this. can you wrap it for me?”
omfg. but the way she said it was just so fucking snide and mean man. just unbelievable. so ya, people that come in and use these things, to me, just scream cheap.
