Hey people
I was wondering if its at all hard to remove and replace the shifter in an 89’ sentra hatchback? Do i have to do anything under the car?
I plan to make my own short shifter if i can get it out.
All advice appreciated.

Do you know if it’s a cable linkage or a solid linkage?
i have no idea at all if its solid or cable. is one harder to deal with than the other?
I wouldn’t really say one is harder than the other…
Solid linkage is much better and more desirable.
Requires more lubrication and such to make everything work nice and smooth. But that is what you will find in acura intagras and NSX’s.
Cables are cheap, in neons and sunfires.
You would see these only under the car. the shifter pivots from the bottom of the car and then is connected under the car to the cables/linkages. so that is where you will find what ever setup your car is.
