Balanced Crank

I’m looking for a shop that can fully balance cranks in the Edmonton area. … I’m e-mailed Nismo about it and they replied:

“If you are getting a crank balanced, supply the damper (crank pulley) and bolts to the machinist. Regardless of it being a UR or OEM pulley.
I would recommend Sonny Bryant or Chambon for a custom crankshaft. Also, there is a tuner in the Los Angeles area named Teddy Hiroka. He has done cranks in the past as well.”

Before I go with these, curious to know if there’s any local places that are reliable to do this. . .it’s a ka24de crank btw. . .

Might be cheaper just to buy a 1 piece drive shaft from the state…i think Enjuku makes one for the S13.

he is talking about a crank not a driveshaft…im sure you can take it to any machine shop in edmonton to do.

Ask the guys on this forum http://www.performance-shop.com

How much did it cost u?

$450 CAD shipped. . .

EC Automotive. They did all my work, and did a great job. Balancing the crank, and flywheel at the same time. Must include the crank pulley.

This is in Edmonton, so no need to send away. Like it was stated above, you do not need to send it away.

There is also Bel Engines. They by far do the best work. The did my whole engine and fly wheel.

Yes, I forgot to mention Bel Engines. I have also heard that they are the best in the city, and their pricing reflects that  None the less, this is work that needs to be done right.

Campbell Automtive is also a good place ive heard. They’re a muscle car shop but a phone call cant hurt.

Several people from Cevo have had problems with worth from EC automotive. There seem to be more problems with Vtec cars though. Apparently they have no idea when it comes to variable valve timing. Some of the none vtec problems that I have seen out of there are incorrect bearing size on the crank/rod bearings. Incorrect valve guide seals.

Just a heads up. Lococoin’s 300whp EF civic had the bottom end built there and it seems to be working just fine. Its in the middel of the top ten cars in alberta right now on 780.
