New mod for Battlefield 2, it’s really awesome. It’s alot better than BF2 alone.
Well it is far from a new mod for BF2. AIX has been out since 10/07. However AIX 2.0 was just released. AIX and PR are the way BF2 should have been from the get go. New planes,choppers,weapons and somewhere around 40-50 custom maps.
I’ll be playing BF2 tonight.

I fucking dl’d the same file 2x… you need the mod and the maps file, I have 2 mods. lol

I’m installing AIX now… I can still play on all of the regular BF2 crap right?
Once you DL AIX I recommend getting the map packs as well. You will get a AIX icon on your desktop. Thats what you use to enter the game. After that everything looks like BF2 just has the AIX logos and AIX servers. But you can only play co-op. So it’s you against bots. I’ll warn you some of these bots are nearly impossible to beat.
The AIX 2.0 release was what I was referring to as New…You can still play BF2 with no problems. AIX is similar to the expansions released for Battlefield 2. I don’t have X-Fire but I’m working on a TeamSpeak server so if anyone is playing I’ll probably be on there as well as Gus.
2142 was a waste of money, it became to repetitive and overall was kinda lame. The AIX mod is awesome and completely dominates BF2 and 2142 IMO. There are a couple AIX server that you can play multiplayer on via the internet. Single player bots as Darksyde stated went from Battlefield’s down-syndrome bots to AIXs reasonably challenging bots. I was never one for mods but I feel stupid for not getting this earlier.
P.S. If you are downloading this mod download from the Fangaming.com mirror. It seemed to be the fastest transfer rate out of all of them

xfire sucks…I’ve had it and uninstalled it twice. Teamspeak is lighter on resources too.
teamspeak has significantly less functionality as well

Yea we used to run xfire all the time, but getting 15 guys in a chat with our team severely hampered the host user’s system. TS is basically resource free. Our team uses nothing but TS. Mainly because we got it free with our 2 cod4 servers and 2 cod5 servers.
you can host the TS server on any machine…the correct ports need to be forwarded however
yea just gotta dl the server client. Pretty simple program.
XFire has its own chat servers, shouldn’t effect any ofthe clients.
thats what I read, I don’t know for fact. We are hopping in to play a little more.
