So you’re saying inflation is a myth!
X3. A wallet keeps bills safe and organized, and you could have $100 in small bills and not be bothered by them. I hate coins. What I don’t throw in my console for tolls just ends up in a bucket, then Coinstar. I take them out of my pocket as soon as I get them. If I don’t they end up falling out in the car seat or someones couch anyway. Imagine how many of those heavy dollar coins would end up lost. Switching to coins is a step backwards, but somehow doesn’t surprise me.
Oh, and WHY do they want to phase out the dollar when they still have the fucking PENNY?
the penny is the most necessary coin, all the others can go.
I always had a hard time counting my canadian change. The amount the gov’t can save is significant though.
This would be interesting in Network to get the canucks’ opinions, since it’s been ~25 years since they had the loonie now and 15 since the toonie. I know it’s a hell of a lot easier on the govt’s end since the coins are so much more durable
because melting down currency is against federal law
You realize the problem right now is deflation, not inflation, right?
Daniel Tosh. Heavier change would make for a better cargo pants joke.
Inflation will take care of this. $5 bills are the new $1 bills. LAWLZ
HAHAHHAAH!!!
they are complaining about the costs of storage and security? Just pay those involved in the dollar coins. eventually all the coins will be gone.
I dislike coins in general
i wouldnt mind it but there would have to be a better way for my to carry them in my pocket and not all loose and everything
blammo!
No Obama’s in office. Our money is almost worthless already thanks to his bailouts! It’s all part of his socialist plan.
I don’t see the /sarcasm tag.
Anyone blaming one president (or anyone but we the collective people) for our nations numerous decades of foolish behavior is perhaps more to blame than the average tax payer.
Now that said…welcome to FABIAN SOCIALISM!
This is Americas reality! WE are gradually and unknowingly stripping each other of our freedoms, our money and perhaps eventually our lives while being led to non revolutionary communism. Some may wonder why I say WE are doing this and not government, the foreign bankers etc… Simple, because WE are allowing this to happen by living with our eyes shut to reality. And why should we care? We are allowed to live well beyond our means and purchase plenty of distractions via credit. I’ll tell you why…our FUTURE. Stop living for today and think a bit off in the distance America. Your children may thank you for it.
Oh, there is…
will move to network
i dont carry coins and although i do carry a lot of cash it’s really just to make myself feel good. I never spend it unless it gets me a better deal… otherwise they can have my credit card, pay 3% and i’ll get 1% cash back… thanks and FUUU!!!
when i do get change it just goes in the ash tray of my car or in a bowl at home and i take it out to buy toys for my son every now and again.
if they do $1 coins in the US you’ll just change your habits to suit whatever your preference is.
$1 bills are pretty gay to be honest… you have a fist full of cash and you only have $18? f that
I assume you are either being sarcastic, or trying to troll me…
I had 25 dollars in change in my pocket yesterday. I have change all over my car, inches thick piled. Change kicking around everywhere. It’s annoying when you are working and 10 dollars in change falls out of your pocket, then another 5. I’d prefer $1 and $2 bills again in Canada, personally.
Toonie? Seriously? You gotta be some kind of loonie to come up with that name…See…the change is driving me mad, the ringle and tingle of insanity chanting every step I take, one more step closer to loosing my mind… ARRRGH!
explodes
That’s why you should keep your bills. Just saying.
You do realize that they never stopped making $2 bills right? You have always been able to get them, nobody other than Rick’s makes use of them though. I think we should switch to the coin. I would have way more money saved up in my change bottle, as long as they fit through the neck.
