I have a great flatbed guy with a new rig if ya need one to go pick it up.
Local dealer says that there is no benefit from buying from them as long as I buy CPO. Also, their ‘smart price’ is non negotiable. The dealer in Connecticut hasn’t sent an email back yet but that one looks the most promising.
I’m with X, might be silly of me but I’d buy a CPO without seeing it :gotme:
When I purchased mine from Michigan, I dealt with the dealership strictly over the phone. They get tons of emails a day from people who are only mildly interested. Call, speak with the same person every time, build a relationship so that they are interested in working with you.
Ask for detailed photos of specific areas of concern.
If it’s certified pre owned, I wouldn’t worry. Mine wasn’t, so I had the dealership take it to the nearest BMW dealership for an inspection there. When everything checked out clean according to a different dealership, I felt okay going out there to purchase/drive home.
There are small things that CPO can still miss, like minor interior / exterior blemishes. It’s still a used vehicle. I’d still want to see the vehicle first, but that’s just me.
I bought my M5 from an acura dealership sight unseen. I had it taken to a local BMW dealer owned by another chain.
They gave the car a once over and i talked to the tech who looked at it and was satisfied…
I flew in to drive it back and after i took a walk around/quick drive i gave them the check
the guy I sent the email to called me back. Asked him a couple questions, let him know it wasn’t exactly what I wasn’t looking for but was curious what was the best they could do for price. He’s going to speak with his manager and call me back.
is it near me?
i flew down to north carolina for my m5. I was told it was in better shape then when i actually got there, however i got the car at a great price so i couldnt realy complain too much. I drove the car back with zero problems. Ive had it for about 10k miles and still mechanicly solid. I guess my point is once you fly in your kinda stuck unless you wanna walk away minus airfair and time. So make sure you know its what you want and if possible dont let them know your coming from far away like already mentioned.
$300 for a return plane ticket isn’t much compared to owning a car that wasn’t what you thought it was. If you don’t have the balls to walk away from the deal, you deserve to be hosed.
It’s in Bridgeport, CT.
They have it listed for $41,995, guy said the best price he’d give me is $39,995. humm.
Year? Mileage? guessing its well optioned?
I like these cars but losing two doors and an LSD sucks when you figure you are probably spending 15-20k after your trade. Plus the coupes look funny. I had a friend drive with me in a truck when I got my cobra this summer. Figured if I had to we could rent a u haul trailer if it broke down.
Took about 24 hours after going to the dmv, eating, and accidentally following an exit instead of the highway when I was tired as shit. My ears were hurting by the time I got back too.
Sweet story bro.
 to finding a 335, one of the first bmw styles I really like. Much “sportier” I guess is how I’d describe them over generations previous.
Im in car sales and you’ll almost always get the best price over the internet on a new car or average used car. If the dealer thinks that there used car is unique there probably not going to to give you their best numbers right upfront. you need to make them believe there competing with other cars. When he gives you numbers tell him your waiting for a couple other dealers quotes. Make sure they know you can make the deal before the end of the month it does make a difference. If you are going to walk into a dealership the last day of the month will get you the best price with the least haggling.
nobody got hosed. the vehicle just wasnt as perfect as described. maybe im extra picky and pay more attention to details then others. either way the previous owner refunded me money to get the bumper fixed after i was already back home in buffalo. I still ended up with a rust free M5 for a very good price.
2008 with 18k miles. Has just about every option(sport, cold weather, nav, premium) minus the 18" wheels.
Price still seems high.
Nice lower mileage, since its a CPO car I assume it will usuall carry about a 1200-1500 premium over private dealer cars.
That car probably stickered for about 48-50sih new. But seeing how we are rolling into 2010 here the car will be/is 2 years old soon.
I would say this car has to be bought somewhere around the mid 30’s. Use autotrader as a sample of current market.
You are trading in a car correct? Sale price may depend our what your getting for a trade in… are they dealing on the sale price of the car or on the amount of trade in value?
FYI I bought my sedan in 08, its an 07 with every option but navi (sport, premium,6sp,comfort access, ipod, sirius, oem alarm) it had 12K on it, car was a 14mo old car. I got mine for 33,800 and got above kbb on my Evo as trade in.
I agree… it’s a little higher that I’d like to pay
I was given the 39,995 price before telling them I was going to trade in my sti, they told me 14k was the wholesale price and that’s what they’d give me. KBB says trade in value is 16k. Seems like I’d be best off selling my car on my own.
The tax implications of trading in sometimes dont make it worth it. You wont pay tax on amount of your trade.
