I would second traveling. That is how I’ve bought all my cars over the last 10 years. Gotta love the internet. Makes it easy. I drove all but the last one back, which I shipped and had a great experience.
Espicallyfor a BMW, with Towne BMW being the only dealer in the area and Holtz being just as bad to deal with in my experience, there was no doubt I was traveling.
My 335 came from Kentucky, I will say the drive back from anywhere is the best way to get aquainted with you new purchase :burnout:
Porsche?
996TT?
That’s what I was thinking…
All the cool kids are doing it. :headbang::headbang::headbang:
Alex you get a fucking 335 yet? Drove one today, very nice.
Update: I found the one I want… 6sp black on black with every option and wood trim. Sent this email to the dealer:
Hi Tom,
I’m looking at 3 BMW 335xi coupes from different dealers. The 335 located at Darien BMW is in the middle(see screen shot below). I thought it would be worth a shot making an offer and keeping your effort minimal. If you can come down to $39,000 and accept my trade which is a 2006 Subaru STI with every option available that year(also has Navigation, stainless exhaust and alarm) for $17,000. I’d be able to come get the car either tomorrow or Saturday. I’m already approved from my credit union for the difference. Figured it would be worth a shot.
Best Regards,…
I attached the screen shot of the 3 BMWs… mostly the same. He sent me an email back saying he’ll call me today, so we’ll see.
A good thing to keep in the back of your mind is you should allways give a dealership a REAL reason to lower their price. “you need to come down with the price because I can’t come up with any more money” “I know my car is worth more” yada, yada, hold no value with them. Telling them I can get $xx,xxx for my car from _______, or I saw the same car for $ xx,xxx for sale at __________ dealership gives them something real to help sway the price.
FWIW I listed the highest offers I got from dealers with their actual dealership info to show I wan’t BSing on the trade it. Using actual pricing from other places that a dealership could potentially lose your business gives them a solid reason to come down on the price.

Right, I should have posted the screen shot… the other two 335’s were almost identical(different color) with similar miles but were asking $2k less.
I think you could have been a bit more aggressive if you had taken the approach Xander suggested. I would have been looking for substantially more on both ends of the transaction.
Of course YOU would.

Almost there… They’ve come done from $44,500 to $40,500… working on the trade now
Why such the large variances in prices? Options and mileage?
you got it… there are different packages(Premium, Sport, Nav, Cold weather…). They add up pretty quickly.
the prick is on the inside
there were 2 which I was looking at and they were almost exactly the same. The one I’m going with was asking 44,500, got him down to 37k and my trade for 15.5k. Picking it up Saturday I hope.
Side note, it has aluminum trim, I’ll have to take care of that.
lol
