Just today I took a ride on Bflo’s east side, my stomping grounds of my youth. A quick ride down Goembel st. was enough to make me sick. Nearly every house was boarded up, burned, or had most or all of the windows broken. It got no better when I went down Loepere st., Wolts ave., or Stanislaus. Every street looked like a war zone. I went down Genesee st, past my oold workplace on Genesee and Rapin, and all my old haunts were empty lots. My mother in laws old house on Loepere, where she lived for 71 years(and you could have eaten off the floor) is gone. She soldd the house in 93’ for 10k. The realator told her ashe was lucky to get that. Three years later i went past and some she monster was barbequing on the front porch, scorched and seared from the heat, the door was broken off, the front window broken and a general mess. I saw in the real estate transactions that HUD gave this slob 38K for the place(Isn"t that justice?) and tore it down. and the house next door, and nest door, and next door, etc. There is now a huge empty lot of weeds where my mother in law was born, raised, had children, and babysat my kids. The old church is now a mosque, the stores are gone, and spray paint is the only home improvement done in the “hood” for the last 20 years. “Whats changed?” I asked myself? Well, it was all white back then and now its all black. If poor whites could maintain the neighborhoods, why can’t blacks? If you are black and wonder why for sale signs go up every time one of you move in, this is why. It isn’t your lovely tanned skin we reject, its the “black plague” now starting to eat up Lovejoy like termites. Don’t tell me no. The answer is YES!!! Thats what happens. I think you all like this, putting whitey on the run, trash and burn the neighborhood and move on. If I’m wrong then name the bflo hood where whites moved out and blacks moved in where it didn’t collapse in 10 years or less. Name one that got better. Right now, my old Chkt. neighborhood of Walden Village is on the verge of collapse, and a quick drive past there in July showed me Black folks sitting outside in a formerly solid white area. Now, its a disaster area, getting worse by the month. I remember every building in the neighborhood, so don’t tell me I’m wrong, I’m not. Please, hurry and call me a racist, just remember to add, “you’re right!” after it.

Buffalo isn’t handling this any different than they would normally. It’s just the fact that the dad brought it up and that the attackers and that kid are different races. The truth is though, that the only difference you would see if the races were reversed would be how the media handled it. Buffalo doesn’t give a shit either way, but if 12 whites kids beat up a black kid, it would be a national hey day. It seems like the dad was trying to stir some of that up with his comments.

The more we make a big deal out of shit like this, the more it will continue to be a motive for violence. If we never made a big deal out of race, it would eventually cease to be one. A kid only uses race as a motive for violence because he see’s it in his parents and environment and the media.
