BLACK UHMW PLASTIC

It may be a long-shot but, you never know.
This stuff has been collecting dust for 2 years and I want it gone.
We bought it to make frame sliders, etc but the customer was not happy because they weren’t shiny enough.(bling)

1.750" dia. x 5 feet - 75 pieces (My cost = $1300)

2.000" dia. x 5 feet - 10 pieces (My cost = $200)

I have no idea what to ask for it, I just hate to throw it in the dumpster.

Or if anybody has an ideas on what to machine it into. lol

I don’t even know what this is…

Picture added. It is basically like delrin but is cheaper and does not machine as well. :frowning:

UHMW you mean?

Holy typo - thanks.

Are other brands of frame sliders injection molded or are they polished to make em shiny.

The first we machined were all aluminum, polished and anodized but then the customer wanted plastic. Delrin machines to a much better finish but costs much more.

I think actual racers use plastic and the ricers use shiny aluminum. lol

I don’t know, maybe I will just make some sweet nun-chucks.

Come on, nobody needs driveway markers? lol

Give me some product ideas! How about shot glasses? Skateboard wheels? Dildos? Billy clubs?

bump.

i kinda want a few.

fleshlights

I accidentally…

I should mention this plastic is not soft and or pliable. lol

So accidentally all of it. The whole thing.

Haha, I bet those would be the slipperiest skate wheels ever. Make me a set of 70mm ones for my new longboard so i can go sliding…

I will have to check the durometer. lol

If you get to a point where you’re just going to throw it out, don’t. Talk to local community colleges, one of them will have a machining/manufacturing program and they could use this.

Metal frame sliders are such a bad idea, they catch the road and flip the bike lol.

Make some nyspeed shot glasses lol

UHMW is like 65D… skateboard wheels are like 70A for cruising or 97a for freestyle

That would be sweet but, this stuff would not engrave well though.

Who needs to engrave… Just vinyl it up.
