not really man. VZW takes advantage of 850 and 1900, while sprint uses only 1900 and roams on 850.
So buy a Sprint phone for use on Verizon…and roam it up? LOL
I’m no engineer…but I know you can’t run a Sprint phone on Verizon network and vice versa. Perhaps it’s just a firmware/software restriction. I dunno.
But it’s important to know what a phone will and won’t operate on.
I’m a bottom line guy…I don’t care about WHY it will or won’t work. Just that it will or won’t work. Frequencies and what not are for developers.
CDMA activates phones based on ESN (serial number, basically). Verizon doesn’t necessarily have the same ESNs in their database of valid ESNs as Sprint does. In fact, AFAIK, it’s very rare to have a phone’ss ESN in both databases. There’s nothing preventing the phone from working on either network, you’d just need an insider to add the phone’s ESN to the database.
I’m a geek at heart so that info interests me. Thanks for the clarification.
Do you have such a connection? If so I’ll bookmark you for possible use down the road.
Replied to PM for ya. GL
Nope, no hookup. Thanks for the PM
PM’d
Do these have US GSM 3G in them (HSDPA) or just the basic GSM?
