BP Initiatives flow stack makes 5hp on the roadster

Hey guys we’ve got this new product i think you’d be interested in. So basically its a velocity staack for the end of a 3" intake that increases flow into the engine.

We tested one on the roadster and here is a before and after dyno:

They use a 6" filter and the stack obviously connects to a 3" intake.

We’re thinking about doing a group buy and would like to use this thread to gauge intrest. The flow stack itself would be like 45ish dollars and we can also supply a filter or you can get your own.

That’s wicked!

wow thats pretty cool. i’d be interested.

Not bad at all…even though its just 5hp count me in on this, you think it will be the same amount of hp and torque increase on my SR?

turbo cars will see it more as increased compressor efficiency, as the inlet pressure on the turbo will now be higher, the difference between inlet and outlet pressures are smaller, thus the temperature gain is smaller

intake air temps will therefore be lower. also in theory the turbo would spool faster, however it would be hard to notice in real life

im down for this, one thing tho. how much more if you supply the intake? and is it gunna be a cheese ass intake or a respectable one.

thanks
Chris

Filters are K&N and will be available for about 60$

How did you do the before test? I’m assuming you didn’t use the same filter as it wouldn’t bolt up to the intake with an adapter.

Do the adapters come in 4"?

im just wondering how fitmint of a 6" filter would be in my s13… sometimes ive seen all guys can fit are those dinky lil HKS bowl shaped filters… i could fit it with a small downpipe so it dosent get crushed by the hood.

not really meaning to hijack but…
this is a z32 MAF install. i think its the same concept in some ways… and i think its a 6" filter base, might be a similer to this in the aftermath. but fitment is tight.

ok so they only make a 3" stack right now but are bringing out a 3.5" version soon. So if you have a 4" inlet on your turbo it will not work for you, sorry!

The previous tests were with a standard 3" K&N filter

The overall diameter of the filter is less than 7 inches, which I would imagine is about the same as a HKS Mushroom filter. The filter is not as large as you would imagine, and will fit in most circumstances

um… wow… comp. eff. is based on the shape of the compressor impeller and rotation speed of the compressor impeller… any gains in flow eff. would be measured in .001 bar range… and the first bend in the CAI to the compressor inlet negates any gain potential by a factor of 10… you have better gains in flow by using more advance compressor housings then any other ‘cold air’ side add on.

and there are many companies out there with ‘horn’ entrance profiles, HKS, Apexi, Blitz, tonnes of ebay knock offs even.

Hahaha, I had one of those lying around I think I got it with my car back when I bought it. Ever since I wondered if it does anything. Now I know.

But still… lol wtf ?

are you serious thats so funny!

did anyone see bas post? i thought i heard the wind blowing but i cant make it out in the hazy simpsons comic book guy looking fog

wow great rebuttal… I guess mommy’s money doesn’t buy you skills in the brain department.

that’s enough

So should we start a group buy on this stuff guys?

Let me know and i’ll buy in with the company, I want to make sure there is intrest first though!

Sasha: “Hi I has dyno proof of…”

Ian: “Your dyno means nothing, i am better than a dyno”

Ian was talking about something not provable on an NA dyno…

you just think i delete your posts… but i never have. keep accusing me though please.
