Broke a exhaust spring.....dammit!

the valve seems to be stuck closed…hopefully the damage is minimal.

Pulling the motor out and doing a full freshen up…just too much breaking at the end of the year…gotta make sure nothing else is tired.:banghead

Ouch, good one. I’d do a LD test on that cylinder and check the valve just incase. Very rarely does it tweak the valve stem, but it does happen.

Shit just noticed what you said at the bottom of that pic. Yeah, not good. Would not be surprised if you found the stem bent

oh the valve is toast…guide probably is as well…most likely I will be replacing that piston to…fingers crossed that it just kissed…but I doubt it.

WOW…talk about lucky!

Figured with the miles on these heads it was time for a new set rather than just replace a valve and springs…so these will go back as cores and I will have a new set with hollow stem stainless valves. Intakes at 2.15" and sodium filled exhausts at 1.65"…should flow a shitload of air.

I want all you just said.

U shoulda play the lottery

Wow

i got lucky like that earlier this year when a valve spring broken.

Beautifulllll. Whos heads are those?

Pwr apaches.

F*CK, that’s what I thought. I’m jealous.

Yeah. That, with the upgrade is like a $3000 set of heads id say.

Everytime I see the thread title, muffler bearings and headlight fluid comes to mind :lol

Is that nolans hand in the bottom pic ???

:rofl no john

Not Nolans hand…lol. Going from a 68cc chamber on the old heads to a 74cc chamber on these. I will drop from 10.8:1 compression to 10.25…just about perfect for 14 psi.

So ill order these in the summer and drop my CR to boostable point! Sweet!

You would need regular 5.7 heads with 84cc chambers to get to a boostable compression ratio. Lets just finish what you started ok?

So its possible? Haha. I dont think my motor without arp stuff and billet mains would take boost.
