you cant expect nav in a 300 dollar DD. everyone is making a DD with nav, just gotta spend the loot.

I’m going to rig up the screen to a DTST switch.
One leg tied to the reverse lights, so it will always go on when i reverse, one leg tied to constant hot, so i can turn it on whenever i want.
spending the money isn’t the issue. The biggest issue in my mind is theft. Even with an anti-theft device on the car, I am afraid of it getting broken into if I go out downtown one night or something.
+1 which is why i still have the stock headunit in my bmw. I dont go downtown but ive had enough stuff stolen to know better then to have nice things.
yeah, really makes me interested in a single din removable faceplate unit though. Plus I would have the luxury of a little change/trash tray under it.

wtf. I own a kenwood flipout lol. I have had DD’s and I can fit a DD in my car now. it really doesnt matter, I set the flip to manual so the screen is ALWAYS out. I also prefer a flip out because they sit up higher. Easier for rear seat passengers to see on trips.
I hate that the screen always looks like it is hanging out. Might as well just put that little suction cup gps on my windshield and forget about it.
I hate when the console looks cluttered, ugh, huge pet peeve.

yeah, but I am trying to get rid of this car and move into a subaru. That has a DD radio also. I rarely do road trips with more than 2 people though.

I am not really concerned with playing DVDs. I like the idea of Navigation, built in bluetooth, and rear view camera though.
