Nice job. Thats impressive.
Nice pics!
What’s America’s fastest Subaru run?
look at that 60ft
This is a normal full weight car that is driven every day and he runs on his normal pump/meth map at the track, so taking that into consideration, nobody is going much faster anywhere.
Once you get into race gas, there’s a handful of guys in the US cracking 10’s in streetable Subarus and a couple race cars in the 8’s/9’s. Nobody has gone faster than him in Canada in any Subaru though. They’re a bit behind.
It may be hard to believe, but that’s easy for an STi to achieve when almost stock if the driver knows what they’re doing.
That’s what I figured. Silly canucks and their “LABOUR day”
yea mike i know that i should has asked if he just drove off the line or he just had that much spin…
sry… did he just drive off the line ?
Didn’t the Ultimate racing guys have a pretty fast waggon??
What’s the background on this car? What are the moods? The guy I bought my 02 WRX said he ran mid 12’s?
i have yet to ride in a Subaru… really i have never been in one
It bogs, then spins. He’s working on it…
They had a mid 11 second STi and a wagon that made good power years ago.
I also tuned a WRX from Ontario that’s 700+ whp, but he’ll never go to the track.
Believe it or not this is the quickest/fastest unless someone is hiding a quick car somewhere.
Some of the basics:
AEM EMS standalone
pump gas with 50/50 water/meth mix at 23-24 psi
Innovative Tuning stage 2+ shortblock
Innovative Tuning stage 2 head rebuild with .5mm over valves
stock cams, no porting
UR GT35R kit with .82 hot side
APS FMIC
3470 lbs with driver
He ran a little quicker last night, but was running into huge traction issues. He’s making more power now with a bit more boost than before (27 psi vs. 24). He’s still on his old stock tires. It didn’t help that they didn’t spray the track at all that day and as the night went on more and more dew was forming on everything. The pass before this one he shifted into third, the car went sideways on the rev limiter immediately and he had to get it away from the wall.
11.2 at 125.7 mph
video:
To get it in the tens on the beat stock tires he needs to do three things:
Funnnnnnnn fucking ride!
 To Jason and the Innovative Crew, impressive.
i’m all aboot that, eh
I guess I was a little off on the speed, 125.6 not 125.7. Anyhow here’s the slip:
Skrapper’s DSM was also well off his normal trap speed due to the track conditions so I think Jason can run a ten at this boost level.
He went to the track tonight.
First pass 11.1 at 127.88
They told him he had to slow down or they were throwing him out. He pleaded that they let him run one more pass as he wanted to get a 10 second slip this year. They let him run one more time after talking it over with the track manager.
Second pass 10.91 at 127.1 mph
We know he could do better if he was allowed more than 2 passes, but nevertheless he reached his ultimate goal for his car of a 10 second pass and I’m very happy for him. Of course last year he said the ultimate goal for the car was an 11.5, so we’ll see what happens.
Here’s the video:
If you mouse over the bottom right of the area where the video is you’ll see four arrows pointing away from each other. Clicking that goes to full screen. The quality isn’t great because the sun was down, but you get the idea.
This was at 27 psi on C16 and a conservative tune since he’s on an unsleeved STi engine at at 27 psi that’s the borderline area where bore distortion can occur. He finally put some real tires on it. Unfortunately he barely got to try them out before he was thrown out so we know there’s more left in it. He wanted to run a couple passes before airing them down and really letting the car have it on the launch because he doesn’t have the beefy rear axles like I do.
We’re not sure if he’s the only STi to run a 10 second pass without head porting or upgraded cams, but we’ve not seen anyone do it or heard about anyone else doing it on any of the message boards. His torque falls dramatically after 5500 rpm and you’re above that all the way down the track so we know with some upgraded cams this thing can really haul ass even at 3440 lbs with driver.
