Where I normally study while at school I have a view over a parking lot in which students are dropped off. I look over and the there is this grey older sports car with the entire half of the car lifted up to let out the passenger. I have not the faintest idea as to what it could be but would like to know.
Here is what I can say:
It does not have lambo doors or gullwings, but basically the top half of the car is one billet piece and lifts up, so it really could be considered a “1 door”
Late 80’s early 90’s look
Gas cap on the hood
If I had to guess it would be mid engine, but am unsure
Let me clarify, A delorean has gullwing doors. This had no doors persay as both doors and the roof were one large piece which lifted up to let people in/out
I had no camera! I just looked out the window and saw it and assumed somewhere in this vast field of car knowledge someone would know of a vehicle that used a billet piece for the doors/roof that lifed up like that.
While I do have a picture taking cellphone, by the time I grabbed it, the dude had already pulled away. Why is this so hard to do without a picture? Does no one know of a model that had door(s) which opened in such a manner? Or shall we just rule it off as a kit car
The only car that I can find on google or even think of which would be “aluminum looking” and “gas cap on the hood” would be a delorean.
Perhaps someone designed and built a one-off car? Or you were mistaken and up too high, looking down on a delorean, confused because you need a new eye exam?
Can you draw a mock up of what “entire half of the car lifted up” looks like in MSPaint or something?
