well the new owner of my integra is picking it up tomorrow morning, he is driving in from chicago and i am on the lookout for a new car
im really not sure what i want, i Love honda’s because of the reliability, cheapness and the fact i can fix pretty much anything on one myself
however soon i will be graduating college and i really dont think its the best idea to pull into an interview in what many classify as a ricer car
if i have to i will buy another civic and enjoy the gas mileage but i was wondering what people think are nice reliable cars (as close as possible to honda reliability) for around 8,000
thats all i really want to spend and i have no idea what to look at (must be manual trans) no v 8’s or muscle cars though
for 8k you can find a really nice example that has been well maintained.
check to make sure the cooling system has been looked at. i know they have a problem with the end tanks blowing out, of course the whole metal impelar waterpump upgrade. check for a leaky valve cover, the “guibo” bushing, check for sloppy shifter bushings cause that seems like its a pain in the ass to swap out. other than that the normal stuff to look out for when buying a car. from what i read as long as they were maintained you shouldnt have too much of a problem with them. as you can tell i still really want one lol.
I absolutely love mine, but I think I’m going to sell it to my wife’s little brother. Very fun DD for sure! Not sure how I’d feel about driving it in winter though.
Why did you make this thread. You know damn well you aren’t going to buy something other than a Honda/Acura. IMHO, buy the red 2 door back since it’s just sitting and pocket the cash for you and Ang. Your 2k difference won’t last long with all the moving, rent, etc. You know this already though.
QFT. You had such a great looking car that was going to last you awhile and that you were going to be happy with. If you’re worried about what an employer is going to think about your car during an interview, then you are completely misled. They care about the INTERVIEW. If that’s still the case though, buy an old Benz or some shit and spend the rest on tuition… or as you gave McCarty the advice… get a scooter
Haha have fun with then seeings how I know you have been going to school for like 8 years. But hey atleast u have a couple degrees, let’s hope u actually find something you would want to do for the next 30 years
