Chopped my Micron

I finally got around to finishing my micron chop. It took a little extra time b/c I didnt want to rivet the endcap back on so I modified and welded the inner bolting bracket onto the shortened pipe. Welding that was not easy at all b/c after the inner pipe was shortened, it eliminated the solid end and I had to weld to the perferated pipe (pipe with lots of holes… not sure of the exact term… lol). Even with the Mig on the lowest setting, I had to keep stacking tack welds so it would burn through. Either way, got it on, chopped the can, and powdercoated everything. I am very happy with how it came out and it should be able to hold me over atleast til I can pick up my HR1. I forgot my cam when I went to my dad’s to do it (he’s got all the nice tools) so I only have finished pics.
Let me know what you think…

I know my poor baby is a mess. I had to move her from my porch to the basement mid winter so she got a bit muddy and no way to clean her :(. She will get a nice bath as soon as we get some warmer weather up here.

And no the emblem was not from laziness. I taped it off for the first coat of powder, but didnt like how much it stuck out so I put a small amount of powder on it for the second coat. Im still not extremely happy with it, but its better than it was.

what’d you take it offroading? christ

no, i had to move it and my driveway is gravel/dirt so it got a little muddy from the porch to the basement. First nice day she will be getting a long bath… lol

Wow that actually came out pretty good!

Highmount sits well on the R6

we have the same bike and the same charger…:lol

What year is your bike? Are you using 60 front? or 70 front?

they are both just that good… lol

This is only hopefully going to be temporary. I really want the HR1 riot series, but its just not quite in the budget for right now.

If your garage is not heated, you really need to trickle charge your battery inside.

its in a basement that isnt heated, but its not as cold as outside… its basically right in the middle. I prefer to keep the battery in it with the trickle that way I can keep my alarm armed incase someone decides they want a new bike.

invest in a bike cover, best investment. Pipe looks good, i had a chopped yoshi pipe an loved it.

i have one, but I am more afraid of the cover getting dirt inside it and scratching when the wind blows or I take it off… Next year it will be going in a garage that I had to use for storage this year. Still getting real antsy to take it out… lol
