Chopper over the Galleria

anyone else see it? thought it was a chinook military chopper air lifting something this morning when i was on the 33 but when i got closer i realized it wasn’t a chinook just a regular old transport chopper think was fuckin HUGE!!!

wish i could have taken a pic when it was hovering and the southwest plane went like right by it on its way down kinda scared me for a minute but pretty sweet photo op

I remember when they originally installed them with a heli.
Maybe they were replacing/servicing one.

few accidents happened because of it though people cannot simply observe and then drive.
It’s just pay attention to helicopter, forget your in car.

Is it really cheaper to move an AC unit with a heli instead of a crane? I’ve always seen them installed with a crane, at least on relatively low buildings like the mall.

how do you go about renting one to do that??? your right i really dont care

Maybe it was near the center of the roof which would require a very large crane.
Set-up and other costs of large cranes make them expensive and slow.

I wasnt sure but I looked through some company pics and sure enough. We were the ones using the helicopter to lift AC units to the roof. Here are a couple pics that I thought were cool. Normally the units are located in the center where a crane can’t reach and the helicopter can lift each unit in like 10 or 15 minutes.
