Citrix Experts, get in here

At my orginization we have a rather large citrix farm. I do not manage this farm.

However, the people who manage it, have granted me the rights to be able to manage a small subset of servers(so that I can manage who has access to it, etc…).

The way the system currently works, you go to a webpage, where you can click on the published servers and applications that you have access to. The whole thing(auth-wize) uses our AD domain for authentication. So, you go to the webpage and authenticate using the AD password. Then you can click on a published desktop or application and it doesn’t ask for passwords.

What I want to do, is take the webpage out of the process. I would like to just have an icon on my computer, where I can click it and access a published app or desktop(preferably without a password).

Is this possible?

wtf, lz where you at?

I’m in the Adirondacks

And yes you should be able to install XenApp(formerly xen presentation server) on your desktop and just get icons for the apps…you will still have to authenticate at sometime…you can make it store credentials…I am no expert with XenApp though I have worked with it but if you have very speific config questions I have people I can ask.

Bump.

I found out recently that Citrix no longer does publishing like it did on Metaframe PS 4.5 and shit.

I’m sure you found out the answer to this already, as all you need to do is install the receiver / citrix plugin and create an ICA file, but I want it cleaner. If anyone is a citrix guy, please let me know, I’m fucking lost with this shit that is supposed to work.

VMware thin app ftw

Citrix farms? I’m thirsty now.
