cold air intake need cleaning?

I took my spec for it’s big service yesterday and $45.00 of the bill was for them to take apart my air intake system and reajust all the hings and all and clean the air filter as they said it was full of dust and getting clogged.

Should I be cleaning my air filter on a 6 month basis, as I’ve only had the intake for a year now. And if so is that a raping price to pay for them to do that?

Let me get this straight, you have in an aftermarket intake and they charged you to clean it?

WTF is that?, K&N actually claims they work better when dirty… “Adjust hinges and pipes?” Sounds like a bunch of BS to me.

I’d take that bill back to them and make the service manager eat the $45.

I’ve NEVER had a facory shop touch my air filter like that without asking.

I think they’re out to make a quick buck on this.

What was the car originally in the shop for?.
