which front brakes are you running with the booster delete? are you getting the single outlet wilwood M/C? combined with no abs, something tells me you may wind up significantly lengthening your braking distances
I am running stock brake for now, and yes single outlet, from everything chase tells me my braking distances will be barely affected… Honestly I don’t know how to take it, if it’s really bad I’ll suck it up and go back to the stock master, I’m really just testing it for now, alot of s2000 guys want a review
Why such a small radiator?
cool - I’d be interested to see how well it works. I know of someone that had pretty serious issues running this with large wilwood calipers but with stock calipers it may work out.
Steve, I am running a custom backdoor Intercooler setup, and the radiator is a triple core unit from full blown, it’ll easily support 1000hp, and yea I’ll post up a review when everything is together
Waaaaaam! Racecar :rofl
Not trying to be a dick but the braking is going to suck ass without a booster.
Yea, that seems to be the general consesus, but as I have said… A lot of s2000 guys want a review to see how bad it is, and also ChaseBays has sold 500+ booster deletes and none have been returned… if it sucks, Im only out 200 bucks and I tryed it… worth the risk IMO to try something…
Some serious progress, although it doesnt look like much, a ton of time sanding and smoothing things out, also got the chasebays milspec connector and chase bays plate mounted on the firewall… the ECU has found a new home under the heater core on the PASSENGER side… Also tossed on my full front end to see what kina fitment we were gonna need to do… nothing crazy, but deffinitly some work needed here… P.S engine bay will be in full primer on Monday! Then its off to the body shop, and my turbo setup ships in 2 weeks!
ChaseBays moutning plate and harness installed!
AEM mounted under the dash on the passenger side
Nothing crazy as far as fitment issues, but they are there…
You are brave putting the ECU right under a potential leak spot.
What has the potential to leak right there?
The heater core? Guess I never thought of that since ive never bad one leak, I had another idea for a place to put it… Maybe I’ll explore that more…
Well assuming the car will still have have a heater core in the box the heater core itself. I have owned two cars where the heater cores mysteriously no longer held water. That might be more of a So Cal problem though where it is common to not turn the heater on for an entire year.
yea, mines never gone bad but its something I will look into for sure… there are other places to mount it but for tuning that seemed the easiest… thanks
Could just wrap the core in some plastic before you put the interior back together
seems kinda ghetto… I have come up with an idea tho, I am going to cut out the little drain part for the A/C put a flat peice of ABS plastic in the whole and seal it, thenI have a much larger flat area to mount the ECU, I will make a shielf out of sheetmetal to put over the ECU to protect from leaks, I will also use this as a mount for my ECU…
Bad idea if your going to retain functional AC. You will wind up with the HVAC case filling up with water and leaking into the interior and possible mold growth.
No A/C in this unit!!
Oh, and I cancelled my booster delete… too much negative feedback from people who have had it, from my understanding anything fast… dont do it haha
Well, got it in another coat of primer and all I can say is WOW, this thing is coming out beyond expectation, we are still going to take this coat down with some 320 for perfection, and there are some small spots we missed that we will be going back over, projected date when the ENTIRE car is under a fresh coat of paint is March 15th… pretty pumped…
On to the pics!
The sense of accomplishment I feel is incredible…
WOW, I will never ever put that much work into making an engine bay look like a work of art. Good freaking job.
