The 2002 reassessment caused my monthly mortgage payment to increase by $250!!! They claimed my $50k house and nearly useless swamp lot was worth some outrageous amount and ultimately forced us into bankruptcy.

wait, so the county raised the taxes on your place by $3000 in one year? This is going to be great. Luckily we haven’t stretched ourselves thin.
