Looks factory. Really nice job.
Thanks. There are some slight air pockets in the part due to the heat cure. I am going to try a room temp cure resin next.
Nice work Luke. Does the airbag still work? I believe those are two different generations of airbag, so they might operate differently.
Love the creativity. Good work.
It does still work. Due to the different generations the connections on the Airbag are different than the MR2 harness. Toyota sells an “adapter,” that is more like a patch cable, which is used on the curtain airbag in the RAV4. It just so happens that this cable uses the same 2 mating connectiors as the MR2 Airbag Harness and Celica Air Bag. Who knew? So it is Plug and Play. You can see the wire harness here under the air bag:
Here is the OEM Wire:
I had to do some research and some modifications (Shown in the above picture) but I even got the newer generation steering wheel Cruise Control Stalk to work with the OEM Module:
I hate not having shit work. Even if I never use it that much or even need it. I am usually pretty good about that.
Good stuff. Chunky early 90 steering wheels are so lame. This is a good mod.
Well I finally got it NAILED:
No bubbles and it looks PERFECT. I will installed it permanently this weekend.
Secret recipe was Polytek 1410 Part A and Polytek 1470 Part B in a 4:5 ratio. Cures at room temp in 8 hours with a post cure at 150°F for 12 hours.
I had a chance to get this back in the car. This is by far my favorite mod thus far. It will be hard to top.

Let me know what you guys think.
i like it. i think the rings around the gauges help a ton too.
