I have found this season to be a little boring compared to how the others progressed by now, this last episode has been the best one by far out of this season.

I really didn’t hate the ending. So many people are saying he should have died, or worse that Deb should have married Quin and Dexter and Hannah lived happily ever after. Screw your Disney bullshit endings… it’s a show about a serial killer. It shouldn’t end happily ever after.
Ultimately, from season 1, Dexter started this quest to find real human emotions. When he finally found them he realized all he does is hurt people and banished himself. I think dying in the storm would have been an easy out and instead the idea of having to live with abandoning the only two people he cared about is the price Dexter has to pay.
I like the concept of the ending. I hated the execution. It was just a laughable last few episodes.
