did timewarner increase the download speed?

i got a call today while at work from timewarner, but of course i cant answer the call. anyways, i ended up listing to the voicemail that was left for me, and i only received the end of it. it said something about timewarner turbo getting a boost or something and they added it to my account. now i’ve had Timewarner turbo for a while so im not sure what they’ve added. the voicemail said it could make the speeds up to 22mbps. anyone have any info on this? ill prolly call them tomorrow when i leave work and inquire. i just wonder if they added a faster service

they ony part of the service that seemed to be increased for me was the bill. im not really noticing faster speeds.

^^
lol…

I see little value going from the 10mbps to 22mbps.

Unless you are running like ten machines off one connection…

:roflpicard:

…lol then you obviously don’t use the net for anything more than browsing the web

I do a serious amount of downloading, along with skype, hulu, everything.

With one computer, I can not saturate the 10mbps down cap right now.

It is the upload cap I saturate when my tenant or someone else gets on the router all at once…

Give me a 100/100 connection, i can pwn it hard off my laptop in seconds.

Oh, and if you have RoadRunner Turbo, the standard 15/2 service is upped to 22/2 when you need it, the network can support it, and its only for the first 10mb…

So, its essentially useless, and only good for late night speed tests to show people on the internet how cool you are.

Ha, well this would explain the call I got from TW today at work. I hung up after about 5 seconds.

It was actually up to 25Mbit/s a few weeks ago

anyone who thinks it is pointless obivously does not do much downloading.
