Differance between copper grades.

Anyone know the differance between no. 1 and no.2 copper? Is there a no.3?

1 is like copper pipe … bare copper

2 is copper wire that still has the jacket still on it

M copper is the standard grade of copper, and is widely used for most plumbing needs. L copper is the next step up, it has a thicker wall, and costs a little bit more. K copper is the thickest and is normally used for direct bury, like for water service into a building. There is also a DWV copper, which is available in larger sizes and is used for drains, waste lines and vents.

2 is dirty copper.Say you burned copper wire with insulation and it was blacker then normal.
