Disco Potato car I believe is the b14 Sentra. It had crazy amounts of power and looked really funny, it was the first car SCC saw GT28RS (or whatever the turbo code) in action and they called it Disco Potato because the car looked like it. Since then the turbo is referred to as Disco Potato.
yeah, Disco Potato was the B14 Sentra. i believe the “disco” part came from it’s crazy flip-paint.

Actually the original disco potato was a b15 sentra 2000 and up. It had chameleon paint. and they named it potato because of its huge round ugly ass. (current sentra). I had a b15 before my s13.

I miss my B15 sentra 
It had an SR20, and an LSD, and an STB all from factory…
And I confirm that the disco potato (which the turbo was named after) was a B15.
grrrrr…none of you can get it right. Disco potato. It all started in SCC magazine when they hosted the SCC challenge. The turbo, which went into it was a prototype turbo from a greddy system made for a miata(which was also featured in SCC). Anyway, The name did come striclty becuase of the paint job. It had a gold base and purple chameleon paint scheme. If you guys want, I can probably scan some pics in, I’ll try and have it for tommorow. It’s just might take some time finding that issue, since it’s so old n dusty.
ps. what relation does it have with the 240sx?
SCC has a project silvia, which most of you know about which has the same turbo.

As I stated it did come from SCC, however I still think the name came from a Sentra. I’ll take a look through my mags.
It was a sentra. The newer ones. The sentra was the car with the Paint job.
Car shape + paint = disco potato
Turbo from disco potato is disco potato turbo
Thus the confusion.
