Just got home from Disney last night. The stunt show at MGM was pretty good. They used modified Opels with 1400cc motorcycle engines. A lot of chasing each other, donuts, some exploding jumps. These guys did some really nice controlled, tight drifts around buildings. And the coordination of who’s where when you have 4 cars flying around is always amazing.

yeah, if u have kids!
Seen it a few years back, and then seen a special on travel channel about it, they said that the driver is more or less just there for show. As everything from throttle to steering to braking is computer controlled…
I saw it last summer and also saw something on TV on it. They have several different versions of each car that look alike, however, I did not notice anything about the driver being useless as they stated how much work it was for the drivers and things more to that effect…
They did have one part where a little girl from the audience used a “remote control” to drive the car. It looked like no one was in the car until you saw the other side where they had a frame attached with the driver sitting on the outside of the car controlling it.
Hell, it would seem harder to control it by remote/computer than having an actual driver unless it was on a rail! Regardless, it was nice to catch a whiff of smoking rubber and hear engines rev to get It’s a Small World out of my head.
