sorry for spelling ahead of time. here is the story. i traded my old car straight up for the conquest. no money was involved. so when i go to register it what are they going to tax me on? anything?
just make up a recipt saying you bought it for a 100 bucks or something, that way you only pay 8 bucks or so
yep.
Say “sold as is with blown engine”
then dont i need different paperwork that it wasnt a trade?
Don’t quote me on this, but I believe if it was a trade, you have to pay tax on the value. It’s an old car, do a receipt for $100 or write that the trade value is $100. They’ll tax you unless it’s from a family member. (gift) I don’t think I’ve ever bought a car for more than $200.:snky: “as-is”

Haha likewise. Also you don’t need a receipt, the DMV will tell you who cares just file the paperwork. All you need is the yellow & green paperwork I believe. (Title/registration paper and the sales tax paper)

lol when i bought my GTO at the dealer, and i saw how much the tax was that i was gonna have to pay, i almost fainted.
I’m pretty sure that, as mentioned, if you don’t specify what you paid they’ll tax you something akin to “fair market value.”
kbb on the car in fair condition is like 1500 wit no options, and in 87 according to kbb there was no TSi just conquest
Heres the Fee’s for weight “Not including the sales tax”
