Do you dislike hospitals?

I work for nursing homes wich are fairly similiar. I am more comortable in hospitals now but still dont like them.

Meh, there are nicer buildings, architecturally, but that is pretty bad ass. I want to visit Dubai someday.

i have so much hate for them there is no word to describe it

i love them. i love them so much i got my wife prego twice so i could hang out there for a few days.

They do stuff retarded. My fiance was in to get some abdominal pain checked out and they took blood.

The nurse said were gonna pull that shit out your arm then you can leave.

Well someone came in full of gun shot wounds and I saw atleast 6 nurses standing around all capable of pulling the thing out of her arm so we could leave.
Instead we sat around for 3 hrs while this guy died (nurses still standing around)
then a nurse comes in and I said “think it took long enough”
she was like all bitchy “we had someone come in who died”
I was like YOU WERE FUCKING STANDING AROUND!
I wanted to punch her in her stupid head.

9 hrs to do blood work, 400$ just to show up in the emergency room.
Which reminds me, if you ever need an ambulance, or something hat will need attention within 2 hrs, take the ambulance.

You could be having a heart attack, a stroke, or bleeding to death and you will sit in the waiting room.
I watched a guy bleeding from his head dripping on the floor sitting in the waiting room.

Malpractice lawsuits are a JOKE aswell, just think if a doctor kills you, your family isnt going to see money for atleast 10 years, and when you get it, you will be grosely unimpressed.

The whole system is ran by retards, but alas I dont hate hospitals because they save some lives.

you realize not just ANY nurse can pull out the IV and write up your discharge papers right? You realize that that nurse might have been responding to the gun shot vic.

You are an asshole…

newdz?

She stood at thier little counter for over an hour doing nothing, picking at her nails ect.
we already had the discharge papers, we were waiting for someone to remove a the needle.

ILYSM

i work there. and i guess i cant really hate hopsitals or else iw ouldnt have worked there for the last 2 years

Not a needle…IV catheter. Now because you seem to have the brain capacity of a squirrel that means its a very very small tube inside of the vein.

and the average turn around time for non life threatening trips to the ER in America is about 7-10 hours depending on “non life threatening” abdominal pain is a very broad statement when it comes to saying “ouch, it hurts” there is a lot of things to test for, hence your wait for lab results.

the wait was 3 hrs to get a bed
and over 2 hrs to get the little tube removed.
I need not mention that they couldnt figure out what was causing her discomfort.
The only thing they screened was blood, So the 2 hrs to screen that made sense, the other 5 didnt.

Not to mention when my father almost died of phenmonia they had him sitting in the waiting room for an hour with a 102º fever.
The nurse (different hospitol) even said she didnt think he was going to make it because it was so bad, nice to know he almost died in the waiting room.

I wish I got payed over $40,000 to pick my nails while someone else is dieing, and other patients are taking up bed space for no reason, making people who are probably hurt worse, sit in the waiting room.

I love them. They gave me some good stuff when I fell off a roof back in march!

Med First FTW if its not that serious though. The most I’ve ever waited was 10 minutes.

Only hospital I’ve ever had a problem with was Degraff… and the only reason I went there was because I was bleeding so bad I couldn’t even wait for an ambulance to get to me let alone drive to a further hospital…

Other than that, meh… I guess they’re alright.

I guess i’ll partly apolgize on the part of alot of the profession, because yes, there are shitty nurses, just as there are shitty cops, chefs, hotel managers, garbage men ect. But i’ll tell you something… there really isn’t a job where there is less recognition for what you do, more people complaining, long long hours where you have to be as on the ball at 16 hours as you do at 2 hours, constantly ready to respond to a hang nail or cardiac arrest, and all for really what amounts to SHITTY pay.

The Emergency dept. deals with people who want instant gratification, whos problem is WAY WAY worse what EVERYone elses and need to be seen RIGHT away. EVERYONE thinks that. Its a matter of too few beds, not enough staff, and everyone being on doubles. People in an ED work their asses off from the moment they set foot in there. They dont have the benefit of buliding personal connections with patients, the lengthy time of a stay on a floor, in a more comfortable setting. They need to get people in and get them out. as fast as the possibly can… so your attitude didnt help, and i PROMISE you they wanted you out just as fast as you wanted to leave.

you dont like it? stay home and take some pepto for your abd. pain.

we should be friends

i dont like the billing office

i dont the lighting, the drab pictures on the wall, the food, the staff that is alway over worked and under payed, just the fact that they are “always” doing the best the can… this hospital needs a make over (mercy)… dont they make enough $$$

i like the pic on the wall in mercy on the second floor … like from 1901 with father baker and such

i do hate there father beds…i’d rather sleep on the floor

work for a hospital, and I get a weird feeling just eating at the cafeteria. I am glad I am across the street in a different building.
