Waving seems to be some sort of an issue for some riders, especially squids and HD riders. I wave to everybody no matter what they ride, even bicyclists sometimes but often don’t get the wave back from squids, assuming they think it will make them look so much less cool if they take a hand of the handle bar and stop their full tuck in at 40mph.
yes i wave to everyone even idiots on mopeds and the dirt bike kids that probably dont have a plate on the bike, and i wave to ATV’s and i wave to fast cars that i wanna race and I wave to hot chicks, actually yea i wave to them off the bike too
i waived to everyone, you could tell some harley guys and squids didnt understand though. There was even times entering corners or exiting corners where guys would wave or nod and you would understand they wanna wave but cant at the time.
The non-wave backs are killer, usually I always initiate the wave from a decent distance away and if I don’t see it in return by the time they pass me, I take the index finger off the two finger wave and point the arm upright showing them the finger in the trail.
I’m always shocked when somebody waves to me first too :wow
It’s kinda creepy when I have a guy on a bike next to me just checking me out or waving…
Like, I want to wave back. Just to be friendly. But I’m not sure if they’re some psycho.
Don’t get me wrong, I have to mention I love when a cute guy on a bike pays attention to me.
But to be honest, you can’t tell how cute someone is under a helmet half the time.
There. Now everone knows how vain I am. ;D :tong
The open palm wave is better then nothing but it’s just typical of HD and cruiser riders. Instead of actually taking their hand off and waving they just open their wrist and point it in your general direction :confused
The other night I was going down Western Ave, and I swear every other vehicle was a bike, my arm got no rest and the people behind me must have thought I was having some kind of uncontrollable spasm. :lol
I wave to everyone (or nod when I need the clutch), and most do wave back.
the only ones so far who never wave back are the geezers on touring harleys.
they’re probably too scared to drop it or fall of if they let go of the handle :lol
LOL ok i was joking … I dont REALLY wave to hot girls I drive by thats kinda corny , i mean sometimes I do some kinda something but that depends on whats goin on, but yea i was joking lol
when I wave to other bikers i Just throw peace sign down low LOL for real tho…
That’s the best part about having a black helmet with a dark visor.
I pull up next to people at a red light, put the bike into neutral turn my head and just stare at people next to me. At first they pretend they don’t notice and then comes the double look: they look over see you staring, turn back to look ahead and then quickly glance over to see if you’re still looking out of the corner of their eye :lol
That makes me think of a question I always had though - Do cops ever give you shit for the dark visor? And what about the ones that are just totally black almost. Tint on a car is illegal 'cause you can’t see the driver, but what about the dark visors? Yes you can identify someone by their leathers/clothes/helmet/bike even if you can’t see their face, and it’s less threatening for a cop than tinted windows, but still. I always wondered about it.
1.) Even stock clear windshields provide UV protection and let only about 75% of light in, and unlike the car there is no top windshield strip to stop bright light or sun visor, so if anything having a tinted shield is safer for a biker.
2.) It can always be flipped up and or instantly removed for a clear
3.) The tinted windows on the car are dangerous because the officer is clueless to what is going on inside the car as he’s coming up to it, while on the bike you’re in plain sight and can’t really hide anything.
4.) Most of the time when you’re pulled over you would have to remove the helmet anyway to be positively I.D.'ed
Now some people have tinted visors that are way too dark to be able to see at night and without a spare that is just plain dangerous.
