Domestic Car Abuse Day(s) in West Nowhere, VA

Nice. Basic bolt-on 2010 SS are making consistant 430whp+, heads/cam are doing over 500 ezsauce. I don’t predict this happening with the Ford.

One thing I don’t get, why did GM put the L99 in the Auto and the LS3 in the M6. Gay. The L99’s are only putting down standard LS1 numbers :frowning:

Probably because of the bellhousing design on the auto tranny.

Cool pics/story JC.

Both motors are LSx based Gen IV motors, they are dimensionally identical. L99 has displacement on demand though. I would be willing to bet that they used the more economical motor to keep it from being taxed as a “Gas Guzzler”. The new Camaro is heavy, and the manual LS3 version had just enough MPG to avoid the tax.

Awesome stuff man. I’m a bit disappointed to hear the Dodge cars didn’t perform so swell, considering I’m a MOPAR fan myself. But it looks like you had fun and those are some sick cars.

Update…

Kind of a bummer, the Lotto people vetoed nearly all of the balls to the walls tire smokey drifting action. It’s a conservative demographic and the commercial is supposed to appear to be on the “street,” so you can understand why. :frowning:

I’m trying to see if I can get a few raw clips of the fun stuff they didnt use.

Either way here’s the finished product:

Behind the scenes - I saw my face! I’m super famous! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-fRONSC2yLs

Sounds like a pretty lame excuse for not knowing how to drift.

man that commercial makes me want to “scratch my muscle car itch”

JClark, are those your girly ass looking hands on the shifter/steering wheel? :rofl
