DragNdoor's 33 Chevy Sedan Grocery Getter

Started to lay out the floors. I wanted to continue the diamond pleat work through the whole inside. Couple of maltese crosses here and there and loads of copper riveting. Built the fuse box into the kick panel. The kick panel is a fully enclosed box with door access to the fuse box, wires run up and out behind the dash.

This is basically where the projects at to date. I stopped working on it about the time we started working on the 29 Ford. Jason and I are trying to get that car all wrapped up and then roll this 33 over to his garage to finish it up. Couple more shot of the fuse box in the kick panel, and some more of the floor thats done so far. The whole floor and inside will be wire wheeled and then cleared. Door panels will be done the same way then matte cleared with powder coat.

With the 29 Ford all done we have spent a couple days working on the floors on my 33 Chevy. Basically got the drivers side all framed up and the console bent. Started to wrap it all in sheet metal. Also got the air ride goodies mounted below the floor, got my driveshaft cut down, and built a tubular torque arm to fit. We are going to push to get this one done asap as we also have an audi air ride job we are mid way through and a 36 ford pickup after the chevy is done which is another frame up build.

Just a couple cell photos of the drivers side coming together.

Dude.

Dude.

I love the diamond pleat pattern. This stuff looks like so much fun.

This thing sucks…

The metal work looks amazing, great job.

Got almost all the floor pans built and in place. Center console, door panels, and some small panels are all thats left for the inside sheet metal work. Rear floor pattern will roll right into the center console and the center section is removable for access to battery, air ride, ect. Some photos of it as of last night. Still more riviting and welding but its basically all there.

Couple more of rear floor and fuel cell. Once i get all the rivets in place i will get some up close photos of it all.

Thanks! Wasn’t happy with the first door panel so I made up some new ones last night. I did the original panel as the first thing I ever bead rolled and I didnt have all my new die sets, so I wasn’t to impressed with how it looked next to the rest of the car. So out with the old and in with the new.

Old panel. The diamonds were done with a 1/4 round die and it left the grooves to wide for my taste. The new panels done with the tipping wheel have a sharp edge and now everything matches through the interior.

Both looked good to me, lol.

I didnt like my awesome, so I switched it up to my ridiculously rad

Just finished up an airride setup for a friends audi s4. Got to play with some copper hardlines, polished goodies, and even bring out the bead roller a little bit. With that out of the way and back from vacation we are back on finishing up the chevy. Pulling the body tonight to install all the airlines, brake lines, fuel, and wiring. Motor is all buttoned up and painted and door panels are going on the car. Looking to have this thing wrapped up in the next couple weeks as we have another 36 ford pickup coming into the shop for a full treatment. Anyways I will update this someore as the week goes on.

Great work…looks top notch.

Steam punk trunk on that A4

Update on the 33’- we finished the frame, painted, powder coated, and installed the suspension for the last time. Brakes are all run, fuel system is finished up, air ride is installed and wired. Everything was hardlined using copper nickel lines. Got the motor fully painted, and accessories powder coated. Put the body back on and started wiring it all up. Dash is painted, floors were wire wheeled and clear coated. Made all the linkage for the shifter, cut and installed the speedometer cable. All in all we are hoping to have it close to being fired by next week.

Everything is buttoned up other than the bomber seats. Got the body stripped down to a nice rough bare metal look I wanted and also had the car pinstriped. Took it for a drive last night hoping to put a few miles on it before the syracuse nationals this weekend.

Really happy with how well the car rides to. Being a straight axle car and friction shocks up front it cruises well and takes the bumps of town fairly well. The rear suspension is cushy and smooth. We will see what syracuse brings and how well the car shows among the other traditional rods and customs.

Awesome build! Let us know the outcome of the show!

Yeah the Syracuse Nationals are this weekend. Good luck!
