The incident occurred three days ago, the Dubai-based newspaper reported. Burj Khalifa visitors were brought down from the 124th floor using service elevators after an electrical fault prevented the main elevator from reaching the floor. Gulf News said the deck will remain closed until Feb. 14.
The tower’s developer, Emaar Properties PJSC, said in a statement yesterday that it had closed the observation deck for maintenance after experiencing power supply problems. The statement didn’t say that any people had been stranded. The company offered visitors refunds or priority booking.
An external spokeswoman for Emaar declined to comment today. "
