Ducati Streetfighter 848

I was reading one article about how all these naked versions of sportsbikes are meant to be an “easier” to ride version of the sportbike for the street. If by that they literally mean they are easier on your body to ride, then I can understand. Since I can’t compute how a responsive sportbike is somehow “harder” to ride than a nerf’d nake version with slower steering and less responsive suspension and power.

Not saying there is anything wrong with naked bikes and I do understand a lot of riders prefer the looks of the nake bike. Just saying.

As far as the naked bikes go, typically the gearing is shorter to give you a better use of the powerband in sub 100mph speeds, often mapping is different as well.

Not to mention handle bars instead of clip ons for a more upright and comfortable position as well as having more leverage input into the steering as opposed to clip ons. Clip ons allow you to make finite minute adjustments at high rates of speed and precision in that, handle bars allow you to muscle the bike with leverage. Part of the reason why many stunt bike riders switch to handlebars instead of the clipons.

Also the rear sets are often placed in a more comfortable “touring” position on naked bikes as well.

I actually like it!

Looks cool and comfy. I 'd love to have one as a second bike.
