Dur, so how do I mail something?

:lolham:

I live in the Town of Tonawanda. Mail gets delivered on foot. I.E. I have a little steel mailbox mounted on the side of my house. I’ve only ever lived places where you toss outgoing mail in the box by the road and put the red flag up. I’ve lived here for over a year and a half and never thought to ask. Haha goes to show you how much mail I send. Online banking FTW.

I’m guessing that to mail something, I put the envelope under the lid but not actually through the slot into the box?

Take it to the post office and put it in the out-of-town bin?

Just get into your car drive to Tops or whatever an find a blue box that says US MAIL, Drop letter in and carry on with day

Yeah, but that’s inconvenient. There’s got to be a way to mail something from home.

To mail something from home, you simply put it in the mail box but leave it sticking out so about 1/2-3/4 shows. Mailmen aren’t as stupid as they seem.

You can give him an engineering degree, but common sense…

just clip it to the outside of your mailbox
your postal worker will know its going out! and he will take it!

i take it to work and put it in the out going mail. but at home we have a magnet on the inside.

technically speaking, mail carriers don’t have to pick up your mail from inside the box. it’s more of a courtesy thing, but it’s not in their job description. i’d say that 99.999294950892 do it though.

That the envelope, lift up the lid of your box, and leave it 1/4th sticking out, with the stamp facing up. Your mailman will take it. I do this several times a week with my blockbuster online movies.

Since you’re an engineer, I know you need a picture:

yeah…what most other people said. just have it sticking out the mail box a little bit.

or just drop it off in a mailbox or post office.

I don’t get it. Somebody post a cutaway and link me to a manual. An assembly drawing would be nice too.

Smart asses. :stuck_out_tongue:
